Once In A Life Time Experience, The Floating Theatre
Archipelago Cinema is a floating theatre built on a raft, designed to float on water. When a German architect, Ole Scheeran carried along his talent to Thailand, he constructed this marvel known as the ‘Archipelago Cinema’. This wondrous means of entertainment was unveiled in the waters touching the Kudu Noi Island near Phuket.
The entire structure consisted of pillars holding together screen that emerged right out of water. This fairy tale experience was meant for the audience that was to sit on a floating raft with surround sound system built around the raft. Not far away from Phuket, this little wonder of the world was unveiled to attract the movie buffs at ‘Films On The Rock Yao Noi’ Festival.
What is surprising is the fact that the entire structure was built out of local fishermen’s raft, mosquito nets and rubber straps. In fact, the authorities had made sure that every one of the articles were returned back to its rightful owner right after the Festival had ended.
The festival, after concluding, had promised a return next year too. After this beautiful concept of a floating theater, many similar concepts have followed suit. The guests are carried on to the destination on a boat and awe-inspiring scenic beauty plays as a perfect host to the floating theater.
One such floating theatre is said to return to London this year. Hackney Wick, King Cross 1 and Mile End 23 will be playing hosts to hundreds of movie buffs as the waters will be turned into theaters. Tickets for the floating theaters can be found here.
If you have seen enough of the world, it is time to make yourself savor yet another beauty in motion.
